KF-Acres 1631 "Pigpen" RR
Borcher "Pongo" x Homestead 09-833
Homestead 09-833 is the twin sister to Homestead 09-832, who is the grandma and founder of the "Cabela" line.
2nd late junior ram lamb at Illinois 2016
Reserve Champion Land of Lincoln Ram at Illinois 2016.
Class winning late junior ram lamb at Kentucky and WI Sheep/ Wool Fest 2016
Class winning yearling ram at Illinois 2017
Reserve Champion & Reserve Land of Lincoln Ram at Illinois 2017
Pines End 16-75 "Hard Time" RR
A very intriguing pedigree combining ewes like SWSC "OIL", Supreme Ewe at Lousiville,
Homestead 07-643 (mother of "Say What"- Wolf/ PENC, "Pacman"- Kuhene/ Wolf and the Homestead ram Bauck's are using),
Bauck 9-00 (Dam of "Might as Well"- PENC and "Fancy Fred"- PENC/ Top Hat Farm),
and PENC "Diamond" (Dam of "Steel Dust"- PENC/ Devries and "Diamond Jack"- PENC/ Gehring).
With all that maternal power we felt the need to add this high selling ram of the 2017 online sale to our lineup.
BelMar Farm 17-11 "Warfare" RR
PENC "Cool Runnings" X BMF 15-08
BMF 15-08 was the Surpreme Champion ewe 2016 OSF Jr. Show
Owned jointly with HD Sheep Co
We found this reverse badger ram as a rare gem from a set of bloodlines not known to produce many recessive patterned sheep, and we knew we had to own him. He combines the best of the Bell Dorset ewe lines with their finewool stud rams like "Calico Freight Train sons", and the old "New Venture" Homestead ram. "Cool Runnings" is a Pines End "Gunsmoke" son that won the fine show at Louisville as a ram lamb in 2015!
KF-Acres 1714 "Under Construction"
KF-Acres 1620 x Borcher 4041Y
Finally we have raised a Columbia ram that we feel is pretty special and can take us to the next level of purebred Columbia production. As his name would imply, he is the next step in construction of our Columbia flock.
Our Columbias did well at Illinois State Fair Columbia show this summer, "UC" was 2nd spring ram lamb, headed up the 2nd pair of ram lambs, and 2nd flock. Additionally we had the 4th spring ram lamb, 4th yearling ewe, 4th fall ewe, 2nd early spring ewe, and class winning late spring ewe lamb. 2nd pair of ewe lambs and 3rd pair of yearling ewes! Not to shabby for a set of sheep still "Under Construction"!
Borcher 7043 "Tongue Tied" RR
Sired by Bauck 5-24 "Peace Pipe", 2016 National Champion Rambouillet National Sale
This is the first year we have chosen to produce any purebred Rambouillet lambs, and selected this guy to head that program. We will also mate a select group of finewool natural colored ewes to him hoping for colored results. "TT" brings an interesting combination of Rambouillet traits to the table. "TT" stood 2nd in the late junior ram lamb class and was a member of the 2nd pair of ram lambs at Illinois this summer! We also won the early ram lamb class, early yearling ewe class, and 1st pair of yearling ewes at state fair!
Leaf Livestock 62057 "Gordo" RR
Grand Champion Ram WI Sheep/ Wool Fest and pulled for final 4 of the Supreme Champion Drive
Class winning yearling ram at Illinois, Kentucky, and WI Sheep/ Wool Fest
Owned by Leaf Livestock, IL
"Gordo" sired a super fancy set of ewe lambs for us in the only lamb crop, and just one ram lamb. He bred his super soft, fine fleece on routinely, and those daughters should be major breeding pieces for generations to come!
"Gordo" is the sire to "Angel Eyes", our Reserve Champion ewe at the 2017 Illinois State Fair Natural Colored Show!
Gehring 1418 "Smokin' Gun" QR
We purchased this PENC "Diamond Jack" son, "Smoking Gun" through the online Gehring dispersal alongside his mother, "MJ". We then sold half interest in this ram to Borcher Sheep Co, WY.
"Smoking Gun" sires lambs with extreme length of body, and plenty of growth. The fleeces are good solid medium wool Columbia type, and his lambs tend to have plenty of color palate.
Wolf 14-05 "Midnight Gambler" QR
This was our first Wolf ram, purchased as a baby off the farm, and sired by that "Maybuck" ram that made such a string of winners for both his owners. The "Gambler" offspring around here are hard to miss, as they're extremely moderate framed, way neat made sheep with tons and tons of bone and substance.
Wolf 13-28 "Beer Money" QR
This Wolf ram was purchased just prior to winning the 2014 National Champion ram at Louisville as our 2nd addition from that program. He sired a nice set of females for us in the year we used him really hard. His daughters and sons alike are extremely good patterned sheep, great structural integrity, and tons of eye appeal. We hope the "Beer Money" daughters are wise investments into the future.
Gehring 1151 "GUNSMOKE" QR
We purchased half interest in this ram alongside Leaf Livestock in the Pines End/ Wolf online sale as a mature ram for $2600. We thought buying the current record selling ram of the breed would be a great move, .
